A night we shared
Turns & Treats
23 August 2025 · 6:00–10:00 PM · Kathmandu Mandala Café, Wilmersdorfer Straße 163, Berlin

Our third public gathering turned a cancelled music slot into a cozy games evening: classic South Asian boards with a twist, woven through an art café collaboration with Sophia at Kathmandu Mandala.
Guests arrived to mingle, learned a little game history, then drew artwork name chits into teams of about four. Stations rotated through Snakes & Ladders, Ludo, Bau Cua / Jhandi Burja, Carrom, and Bagh Chal / Gatta — custom boards printed for the night. Mid-evening, Robert Sambuena and Maharshi Bhattacharya played a short live set. Snacks and drinks were for sale; cooking stations stayed off the plan so the room could stay simple.
The concept borrowed from loadshedding nights — when the lights went out and community came alive around games, stories, and shared food. Ticket was €15; about two dozen paid guests filled a warm, competitive, slightly nostalgic room.
